Thawr Mountain
Thawr Mountain is 2,543 feet height and has an area of 10 square kilometers. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq hid in the cave of Thawr Mountain from Makkans who were persecuting the Prophet, before migrating to Madinah. Some historian say the mountain was named Thour after Thour bin Abd Manaf who lived in it. Other says that the mountain looks like an ox (thawr), hence the name.
